A church should support its pastor with an appropriate salary. But more than this is needed. Every church should seek to provide fringe benefits such as retirement, health insurance, disability and life insurance, just to name a few. Additionally, it’s a good idea to provide compensation for resources that assist the minister in his/her work. This might include software, subscriptions, or books.
